Darbandikhan Lake

Darbandikhan Lake is the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s second-largest lake. It is a manmade reservoir created for irrigation and hydropower generation, as well as recreation. The overall area of Darbandikhan lake is about 72 square kilometers and is a hot spot for picnics, swimming, and fishing.

Darbandikhan is listed as an important bird and biodiversity area by BirdLife International.
